First Go-Ride coaching session for Tickhill children from St Mary’s School, where the event was held on Saturday 25th March.
Seven children, aged 4-8 years old were present, and enjoyed a 1 hour cycling tuition session which focussed on riding safely and cycling for enjoyment.
This is the first of six sessions which are intended to be the beginning of a long term initiative by Tickhill Velo Club to encourage young people to get involved in cycling as an activity for life, promoting health and happiness within our community.
The 'Go-ride' cycling training scheme is a Cycling Skills Course, delivered by qualified Coaches, to a program which is nationally recognized by British Cycling. It is suitable for children from 4 to 16 years old, accompanied by a parent or guardian. (It is different to the Sustrans cycling scheme amd deelops riders who have participated in that program run by the school)
Places on this seried will be limited to 12 children, on a first-come, first-served basis. If you wish to enter your chilkd on our Spring program, contact Tickhill St Mary's School Office on 01302 742569, or for further information - Rob Drohan (TVC Chairman and Go-ride Coach) by text on 07970 846237, or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org Further details will be supplied and a confirmation of place provided.
