There were 5 of us, or to be more accurate 5.5. We were Graham, Sharon, Del,Rob and me. We lost Rob so he is the half (either a Ro or an Ob).
We joined the queue at the Spital traffic lights once Mick C (on the red ride) had told me how to reverse a route on the Wahoo. For those that interested this is not an intelligent reversal - it suggests going the wrong way round roundabouts and on the wrong side of dual carriageways!
No problem getting to Harworth or to Oldcotes and Manor Farm (we didn’t stop). Left there along to Blyth and right and left and on to Barnby Moor. We joined the Old London Road and eventually headed to Clumber Park.
This is where we lost Rob. A simple agreement about where to turn right can mean different things to different people! Rob went his way we went the other way, both apparently waiting quite a long time to hope we might re-meet.
We went out if the park and through the backstreets of Worksop before wandering along to Netherthorpe and the airfield where we were invited to walk into the garden. Apparently a cyclist (not Rob) had cycled into a very busy garden and out again.
Loads of planes but no pilots so we ate and drank and set off again through Thorpe Salvin over the railway crossing and onto South Anston and then Dinnington. We followed Sharon up the hills and she graciously waited for us at the tops!
With the hills behind us we travelled on through Firbeck and back to Tickhill.
A hot hot ride but enjoyable!
